2012 Fall Retreat: Escape Into Your Writing

“Water and words… easy to pour, impossible to recover.”   ~ A Chinese proverb.

This November, Write By The Water offers you an opportunity to let your writing flow, as you escape with a handful of writers to a place where you’ll find both water… and words.

Write By The Water escapes are specially designed to give you the quiet, freedom and solitude you need, but also the motivation and accountability that being around other working writers can provide.

Join us this fall in Blue Mountain Beach, where you can hunker down in a brand new luxurious townhouse with all the bells and whistles, conveniently located across the street from the beach and equidistant to Seaside and Destin, Florida. Take a deep breath, then crack open the laptop and finish that project you’ve been putting on the back burner for far too long, or start something new, as ideas brim up during a sandy stroll or a hard run on the bike trail down scenic 30A.

It’s your writing retreat, and your choice between :

  1. This is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen. I’ve never been to a retreat or anything like that so I’d love to be a part of this and promise to do my best to make the very most of this opportunity if selected. Thank you.

  2. Sher and I just created a newsletter for Gulf Coast Writers and as a journalist and writer for Sea Oats Writers and Coastal Woman, which is about Gulf Coast women, would love the opportunity to attend and cover the event in our publications.

  3. I would love to attend but will be on location in Maine. Right now I’m in Annapolis, Maryland starved for other writers. Thanks for extending this invite perhaps I will be able to join you on your next venture.

    Cheers,
    Andie
P.S. need to update my website but enjoy it either way and please sign the guest book.

  4. Greetings from the Romance Goddess! When I am not busy with my Chocolate Yorkie Kennel (small home-based) or my Romantic Ideas website, I write romance.

    Hmmmm…haven’t written in a while!

But, I’ll be in between litters in November, perfect timing for a writing getaway! I’ve got a partially finished novel and several romantic cookbooks underway…

I’m visualizing being there, making new friends, a frenzy of delicious writing, inspiration around every corner.

    Yum.

    In Joy,
    Sara

  5. A writing retreat? Heaven. I’ve been writing so much on deadline for “paying” projects (a blessing I appreciate) … But I’d love to get away and focus on honing my craft or on the joy of creating a piece just for my pleasure (and maybe to sell later. Smile).

  6. Is there still space available? Trying to push through a draft of a novel and this sounds like a amazing place to work on it.

  7. Pierre,
Yes, it is an amazing place. You should grab your spot soon though, as we are selling out. I’ll put your name in the pot for the free 3 day stay. We’re picking the winner and announcing it on the 10th of Sept- that’s MONDAY. If you win, your application fee will be refunded immediately. Or, we have also agreed to apply the $350 value of the prize to the $550 5 day retreat, for folks that have a bit more work to do. Good luck!

  8. Okay, not sure what I could say that would be any better than these other wonderful folks have said except for maybe, I have never been able to attend a writing retreat for two reasons . They are always too far away for me to drive, and also no money…lol. Oh, and the fact I have never won ANYTHING in my entire life. That being said, I still feel blessed everyday I wake up, and I know you will be pick a deserving person.

    Hugs,

    Robin

  9. I’ve been looking for something like this for a while. It makes me feel so excited to think of the time to focus on a project!

Oh, man. I definitely need to check my schedule.
