March 2017 Retreat

A Write by the Water Retreat is never the same event twice. It’s our attendees who make the retreat special. Like these amazing writing women.

A well- deserved break from the page allowed us to dip our toes in the gulf and grab a selfie.

We took a little musical field trip. One of our novelists is also a songwriter!

Playing with colors can lead to playing with words. How to keep the creative juices flowing while at play.

Nothing beats having our own musician in the house. We had an Angela Durden private concert!

Time for the morning workshop. Today Fiona Quinn teaches us about writing fight scenes.

Penny Head and Lis Anna are such awesome students.

After a hard day of workshops and writing and critiques, we join up with a group of local poets and open mic artists at the local bar to read from our most recent books.

It’s so hard to say goodbye to our beautiful beach…. until the next retreat remember what the sign says in the yellow room—–
